A beginners guide to understanding neural nets
So this is my first real post here! After studying deep learning for a while I wanted to go back to the basics and explain to myself (and others) in a straightforward and comprehensive manner how I understood the mechanisms underlying neural nets when learning about them. I’m doing this in part since I wanted to get this blog started at some point (lol) but also because it’s fun to go back and dive into the basics of what inspired most cutting edge systems today....

My name is Darius Foodeei and this is a blog I hope to update relatively frequently. I’m currently a computer science undergraduate at EPFL (école polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne). Interests of mine include artificial intelligence, the human brain as well as it’s intersection with computers.
